Analysing spectral changes over time to identify articulatory impairments in dysarthria

نویسندگان

چکیده

Identifying characteristics of articulatory impairment in speech motor disorders is complicated due to the time-consuming nature kinematic measures. The goal explore whether analysing acoustic signal terms total squared changes Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (TSC_MFCC) and its pattern over time provides sufficient spectral information distinguish mild moderate dysarthric French speakers with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Parkinson's Disease (PD) from each other healthy speakers. Participants produced vowel-glide sequences /ajajaj/, /ujujuj/, /wiwiwi/. From course TSC_MFCCs, event-related global measures were extracted capture degree change variability. In addition, durational obtained. For both moderately impaired PD ALS speakers, variability, averaged complete contour, separated especially when producing /ujujuj/ Durational Using approach on repetitive targeting lingual labial articulators characterize promising. Findings are discussed against prior findings populations studied.

Articulatory kinematics in the dysarthria associated with Friedreich's ataxia.

Electromagnetic articulography (EMA) was used to investigate the tongue kinematics in the dysarthria associated with Friedreich's ataxia (FRDA). The subject group consisted of four individuals diagnosed with FRDA. Five nonneurologically impaired individuals, matched for age and gender, served as controls. Each participant was assessed using the AG-200 EMA system during six repetitions of the to...

Analysing the Vocabulary to Identify Knowledge Divergence

During the development of a project, words used in source code add up to a big vocabulary, which may lead to a divergent word-understanding and wordknowledge between developers. Even the drop out of a single developer may lead to a big loss of knowledge about words and their meaning. By keeping track of the active developers vocabulary one is able to identify and react upon such situations. In ...

Evaluating Spectral Signals to Identify Spectral Error

Since the precision and accuracy level of a chemometric model is highly influenced by the quality of the raw spectral data, it is very important to evaluate the recorded spectra and describe the erroneous regions before qualitative and quantitative analyses or detailed band assignment. This paper provides a collection of basic spectral analytical procedures and demonstrates their applicability ...

Articulatory-Spectral-Temporal Relations in Cantonese Vowels

This paper investigates the articulatory-spectral-temporal relations in the long [iː uː aː] and mediumlong [i u a] point vowels in Cantonese, through analyses of (i) the tongue positions in the oral cavity by means of the Electromagnetic Midsagittal Articulography (EMMA AG500) and (ii) the corresponding formant frequencies for the vowels using the speech analysis software, Computerized Speech L...
